Health Science Department

The Health Sciences Department encompasses a variety of sub–disciplines, all of which relate to the application of science to health. It trains professional Medical Laboratory Technologists, Nutrition and Dietetics Technologists, Community Health and Health Records & Information Technology. Health Science works in collaboration with medical facilities within the region to meet the job market’s needs. The courses are fully accredited by relevant professional bodies: Kenya Nutrition and Dieticians Institute, Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board, and Health Records and Managers Board. The Department offers patient-centered learning by accessing the institution’s dispensary, which provides healthcare services to the immediate stakeholders. The department is equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories for practical research and training. The department has sufficient lecture rooms and qualified teaching and non-teaching staff. Internet facilities are available for learning and research.
